Kremlin: Kaliningrad cargo transit problem persists, may improve

MOSCOW, Jul 13 (PRIME) – Russia expects that the persisting cargo transit blockade to the exclave Kaliningrad Region will improve, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday.

"The situation has not been finalized. We expect some advancements, but we cannot say that the problem has been solved," Peskov said.

News daily Izvestiya reported that the E.U. and Russia had agreed on cargo transit to the exclave Kaliningrad Region. The E.U. said that cargo shipments between the Russian regions will not be restricted and be exempt from sanctions.
